My passion for the Dragon Blood Tree began during one of my visits to my birthplace (the Canary Islands). In Tenerife, I encountered the beautiful and mysterious 'Drago Milenario' in ‘El Parque del Drago’. It is believed that this dragon blood tree is about 1000 years old. Today, this species is threatened with extinction. The dragon blood tree was associated with magic and alchemy in ancient times, as it is the only tree in the world that produces red resin instead of white. This resin is called Dragon's Blood and possesses 'magical' properties. Additionally, it removes toxins from the air and is less susceptible to diseases and pests. I grow these trees myself. You can keep them indoors as ornamental plants or place them in a pot in your garden during the summer.
The dragon blood tree, also known as Dracaena draco, the Canary Islands Dragon Blood Tree, Draco, or Drago, is a subtropical dragon blood tree native to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, Madeira, the Azores, and locally in western Morocco. The dragon blood tree can grow up to 12 meters tall (it is rare for the dragon blood tree to grow taller). The thick leaves of the dragon blood tree form an umbrella-like canopy. I have started growing dragon blood trees myself, due to their magical appearance and because I find it a shame if they go extinct. If you also want the "magic" of the dragon blood tree in your home, you can quickly and easily order both the trees and the seeds from my shop.
